Step 1: Sign Up (Done! ✓)

You're already signed in with Google! Let's move to the next step.

Step 2: Add Your Kids

Create profiles for each child with a name and avatar emoji. Each kid gets a unique QR code for easy mobile login!

💡 Pro Tip: After adding kids, you'll find their unique QR codes in Settings → My Kid(s). Print or save them for easy scanning!

Step 3: Schedule Quests

Drag quest templates onto the weekly calendar. We've got 8 default templates ready (Make Bed, Walk Dog, Homework, etc.), or create your own!

💡 Pro Tip: Start small! 2-3 quests per day is perfect for the first week. Add more as kids get the hang of it.

Step 4: Set Up Rewards

Create prizes kids can earn with their points! Mix small rewards (10-20 pts) like ice cream with big goals (100-200 pts) like movie night. Important: Kids can redeem rewards, but parents must approve them first!

Step 5: Get Kids Started

📱 iOS App (iPhone/iPad)

  1. Install "Pointly Kids" app from the App Store (coming soon!)
  2. Open the app and scan your kid's unique QR code
  3. Start completing quests and earning points! 🎉

🌐 Web Portal (Any Device)

Open the kid portal in any browser and scan the QR code to login instantly!

💡 Pro Tip: Get your kids' QR codes from Settings → My Kid(s). You can print them or save as screenshots!

🎮 Bonus: The mobile app has fun animations, sounds, and confetti when completing quests - just like Duolingo!

Step 6: Kids Redeem Rewards

Kids can browse available rewards in their portal and redeem them with their points. When they redeem a reward, their points are deducted immediately and parents get an email notification.

How it works:

  1. Kids see their current points balance
  2. They browse available rewards they can afford
  3. Click "Redeem" and confirm the purchase
  4. Points are deducted from their account
  5. Parents get an email notification

💡 Pro Tip: Kids can only redeem rewards they can afford. If they don't have enough points, the "Redeem" button will be disabled.

Step 7: Parents Approve Everything

Parents review and approve both task submissions and reward redemptions. This keeps parents in control while giving kids independence to complete tasks and redeem rewards.

📋 Task Approval Process:

  1. Kids complete tasks and submit photos/notes
  2. Parents get email notifications about submissions
  3. Parents review and approve/reject in Parent Portal
  4. Kids earn points, achievements, and streaks when approved
  5. Kids get notified about their progress

  2. Parents get email notifications about redemptions
  3. Parents approve/reject in Parent Portal
  4. Kids can enjoy approved rewards

💡 Pro Tip: Email notifications keep parents informed about all kid activities. You can also check the Parent Portal anytime to see pending approvals.

Step 8: Enjoy the Fun Features!

Pointly has lots of fun features that make completing tasks exciting for kids and rewarding for parents to watch!

🏆 Achievements System:

Kids unlock achievements automatically as they complete tasks, earn points, and build streaks. Each achievement has a fun icon and description!

🔥 Streak Tracking:

Kids build daily streaks by completing tasks. The longer the streak, the more impressive! Streaks reset if they miss a day.

📊 Points Ledger:

Kids can see their complete earning and spending history. Every point earned and spent is tracked with descriptions and dates.

🎉 Celebrations:

Fun animations, sounds, and confetti celebrate when kids complete tasks, earn achievements, or redeem rewards!

📧 Email Notifications:

Parents get email updates about task submissions, approvals, reward redemptions, and weekly progress summaries.
